The Community Affairs Department of the Guadalupe Center Inc., serves as an advocate for the Hispanic community and the Westside with the goal of increasing community awareness and participation in issues relevant to their interests.

Senior Center

GCI’s senior program is one of two“comprehensive” senior centers in Kansas Cityas designated by the Mid American RegionalCouncil. This program provided varioussocial development activities including: nutritionservices (congregate and homebound), healtheducation and screenings, social developmentopportunities and other socially supportiveservices to support seniors living healthy andindependently. These services were provided toover 500 seniors during 2008.
