CALMECAC Enrichment Program

Working in cooperation with Upper RoomMinistries, Guadalupe Centers, Inc. providesafterschool and summer literacy andacademic support services to area childrenin grades K-8. The program operates twosites during the school year to serve studentsfrom 4 different schools. During the summerthe program runs full day. The morningprogram consists of a summer schoolcomponent focused on reading and math.The afternoon session provides diversionactivities.

Youth Recreation

The Youth Program is one of the agency’soldest. When the Guadalupe Center beganits operation in 1919, recreational outletsfor immigrant Mexicans in the Westside werenonexistent. To this day, the only year-roundyouth diversion and recreational programs forWestside residents are operated by GCI. Theprimary goal of the Youth Program is toprovide Westside youth ages 5 - 20 withorganized year-round athletics andrecreational programs.
